400ci V8, Dana 44 front axel, NP-205 transfer case, Ford 9" rear end, and some other suspension goodies enables me to drive this ride just about anywhere I want. Asphault roads not necessary! This 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT is a dandy recreational vehicle.
Spring time was for camping and fishing in the mountain lakes, rivers and streams throughout Pennsylvania. In the Keystone State southeast of the Appalachian Mountains down in the York County flat lands the Yellow Breeches Creek offers exceptional fishing.
Summer brought me to the New Jersey beaches for fishing and walks along the boardwalk. I didn't have PVC pipes mounted on the Ford's front bumper like a real surf fisherman, but I did have a rod rack mounted inside the roof of the Bronco. Fishing Lake Ontario out of a marina on the Genesee River in Rochester, New York was an early, mid and late summer adventure as well as Delaware Bay charter trips out of Lewes, Delaware.
Fall upland bird and small game hunts in Pennsylvania's lower Susquehanna Valley lush farmland counties, Lancaster and York, was as much fun for the dogs as was for us hunters. The woodland thickets in the Pocono Mountains offer the challenge of bagging a ruffed grouse, the state bird. Yes, this Bronco had a gun rack mounted inside the driver's side bed window.
Winter storms and blowing snow created no obstacle this four wheel drive could not handle. Even driving through the snow covered woods on a "second season" mid-winter hunt for rabbits was no problem.
